OPILE is a program to analyse single piles that are subjected to axial, lateral and torsional
loads, displacements and rotations. It suits the particular requirements of the offshore
geotechnical engineering community, but also provides a valuable analysis capability for all
kinds of piles.
OPILE will calculate axial capacity according to many different (industry established and
contemporary, e.g. API, ICP, UWA) methods, which can be augmented with complementary
axial and/or torsional response analysis. Lateral response analysis can be carried out with
all commonly used PY curve methods (e.g. API, Dyson, Wesselink) and it is possible for the
user to define methods. The ALLCAP module allows easy comparison of different axial
capacity methods in order to select a design capacity.
Soil resistance to driving calculations can be carried out according to various methods (e.g.
Alm & Hamre, Stevens), with input provided for GRLWEAP. Pile self penetration during
installation is also calculated.
Load/ displacement boundary conditions that can be applied in multiple places anywhere on
the pile (suitable for jacket/subsea frame piles, anchor piles, conductor analyses etc).
