The Second International Conference on Information Technology in Geo-Engineering took place this July and attendees from as far away as United States, Singapore, New Zealand, China, Japan and elsewhere arrived in Durham University to learn about the latest news on the application of information technology in the field of geotechnical engineering. Keynetix participated in the conference with a trade stand at the event, as well as with two submitted papers, which were well received by the audience!
Presentation of two scientific papers by Keynetix's employees enhanced the company's presence in the Second International Conference on Information Technology in Geo-Engineering.
In the first paper, titled "Case study – The real life benefits of Geotechnical Building Information Modelling" Gary Morin, examined the Building Information Modeling (BIM) approach to project management in a relevant manner, highlighting the specific gains for geotechnical engineering. In the second paper, Phil Child in the second paper entitled "The Geotechnical Data Journey – How the Way We View Data is Being Transformed" illustrated how the nature of the profession needs to adapt in response to recent developments in the geotechnical and IT industry.
