Note to geotechs around the world...
The geotechnical engineer website has been renamed and from now on will be found in its own new domain name. This was a necessary move we had to make, thanks to the number of visitors. With the opportunities provided from this big step for the website, we aim to provide more useful and educational information. More importantly the site aims to become one of the most important educational resources in geotechnical engineering. Your participation in that effort is very important. The visitors of the site will be thankful if you devote some time to share through our site some of your knowledge and experiences. You can send us any interesting photos from construction fields, provide useful links, or send PowerPoint presentations, papers and other resources. Your contribution will be of course acknowledged. You can find more information at the end of this newsletter. We hope to hear from you soon!
VIRTUAL GEOTECHNICS

Updates:
LEARN-BY-HYPERLINKS
http://www.geoengineer.org/learnbyhy.html
The Learn-by-Hyperlinks are hyperlinks of web pages in the Network with entirely educational index. They are hyperlinks to reports, abstracts, articles or any other material which purpose is to teach or inform students or professional engineers on specific subjects. Follow the link above to see the list of web pages.
Updates:
Dr. Norman Abrahamson's talk on "Incorporating Effects of Near Fault Tectonic Deformation into Design Ground Motions". The presentation is hosted by the University at Buffalo Earthquake Engineering Research Institute Student Chapter (UB-EERI), and provides the opportunity to listen to the speaker and see the powerpoint at the same time. An excellent application of the internet in education!
ONLINE FREE PAPERS AND BOOKS
