Editorial
Over the last year, the
Geoengineer website has experienced an unprecedented growth both in
content and traffic. Currently, more than 15,000 people visit the website
each month and the members of the Geoengineer Newsletter exceed 3100.
The content and tools of the website increased significantly and
we realized that many of the visitors do not know the variety of
information and services that are provided by the geoengineer website. For
that reason, we decided to publish this annual issue of the Geoengineer
Newsletter, which lists the different resources of information and
services available by the website.
Two new websites have been
developed within the Geoengineer website.
-The Geotechnical earthquake
Engineering Portal
-The website of the Joint Working group on
geotechnical engineering for disaster mitigation and rehabilitation.
More information about these websites is provided below.
Also,
the Geoengineer website can support the establishment and operation of
content geo-websites or websites of conferences/workshops/commitees etc.
You can read below more information and send us an e-mail to discuss these
opportunities further.
We hope you will find this review
useful,
The editor

GEOENGINEERING BULLETIN BOARDS &
FORUMS
To enhance the
circulation of geoengineering information and interaction among
geoengineers we established the Geoengineering Forums and Boards. Visitors
can now be informed on the latest news or post questions and get replies
through the growing variety of forums and bulletin boards established.
Current Boards and Forums:
. General Technical
Issues
. Geoengineering News Board, where you can submit
announcements for any news related to geoengineering
. Job
Opportunities Board, where you can submit postings for a job opening or a
request for job
. Geoengineering Software Forum, where you can post
questions on geoengineering programs.
. International Journal of
Geoengineering Case Histories Announcement Board hosts announcements of
the latest published papers
. Georisk and Reliability Forum for the
exchange of ideas and experiences on Geo Risk and Reliability
.
Geotechnical Earthquake Engineering & Soil Dynamics Forum for the
circulation of information in geotechnical earthquake
engineering.
If you would like to recommend or manage a new forum,

CREATE YOUR OWN
GEO-WEBSITE
The Geoengineer website
can host your website and simplify your internet life. Whether you would
like to create a new website, or move an existing one to the Geoengineer
website we will be glad to discuss that. Websites established within the
Geoengineer Website are supported in numerous ways: They receive traffic
from the Geoengineer website, they can use the many capabilities of the
website (e.g. forums, databases, surveys etc.) and they are promoted and
supported by being integrated within the Geoengineer Website. Updates of
the website are also announced in the Geoengineer Newsletter.
Websites of committees or associations, research projects or any
other informational websites that have merit can find a permanent home at
the Geoengineer Website.
WEBSITES FOR
CONFERENCES
The Geoengineer website
can support the organization of conferences: You can either create the
conference website yourself and have the Geoengineer Website host it or
provide us the necessary information and let us do the job for you.
Conferences supported by the Geoengineer website are constantly promoted
using the tools of the website, guaranteeing maximum exposure to the
geoengineering community.
