Title: The Maco Tailings Dam of Apex Mining Corporation is the first HDPE lined tailings dam in the Philippines. Phase 1 of the tailings dam is about 30m height above river bed. The HDPE liner is anchored to the foundation and the abutments by concrete grout cap. Grout curtain at the foundation reached about 15m depth while about 10m depth at the abutments. Grouting was conducted down to formation where the water pressure tests recorded more than 5 Lugeons.
