| Dr. Dimitris P. Zekkos is the founder of the Geoengineer website. The site was officially established in May 2002. Dimitris is currently working for GeoSyntec Consultants, Oakland, California, USA. He received his Ptychion (5-yrs required program) from the Civil Engineering Department, University of Patras, Greece, in 2001, his Master of Science in Geoengineering in 2002 from the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, University of California at Berkeley and his Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) also from UC Berkeley in 2005. His thesis topic is the "Evaluation of Static and Dynamic Properties of Municipal Solid-Waste". This is a NSF-funded project in collaboration with Professors J. D. Bray (thesis advisor), Professor M. Riemer (UC Berkeley), Professor K.H. Stokoe (University of Texas at Austin), Professor E. Rathje (University of Texas at Austin), Professor E. Kavazanjian (Arizona State University) and Dr. Matasovic (Geosyntec Consultants).
