In March 2007, the Geoengineer.org Website announced the updated, more
comprehensive "Geoengineer.org Photo Gallery" and initiated the "Geoengineer.org
Photo Contest". As part of this contest, visitors of the website are invited to submit
photos. Geotechnical books are given at the end of each calendar year to:
Our aim was to create the largest and greatest online Photo Gallery in
geoengineering worldwide. At that time 199 photos were available in 18 albums.
The response of the contest surpassed our expectations and we more than 200photographs were submitted. The Goengineering.org Photo Gallery currently includes
404 photos in 25 albums.
For the calendar year 2007:
F.B. Samani, (MSc, Head of Geotechnics Section, Tamavan Consulting Engineering)
who sent the largest number of photos (93 photos) was awarded the book: "Design
of Foundations in Seismic Area: Principles and Applications by Subhamoy
Bhattacharya" as a recognition of his contribution and participation.
D.G. Hamer, was the 2nd lucky Winner of the lottery who received a book as a prize
for his participation in our Contest: "Uncertainty and Ground Conditions - A Risk
Management Approach by Martin van Staveren".
The contest will continue for 2008. We encourage you to contribute to this effort
with your active participation. Follow the instructions to submit a photo:
