Design of Foundations in Seismic Areas: Principles
and Applications
Editor: Dr. Subhamoy Bhattacharya

Design of Foundations in Seismic Areas: Principles and Applications
comprises the proceedings of an international workshop on Earthquake
Geotechnical Engineering. It addresses the major principles of foundation
design in seismic areas. Some practical examples have been worked out.
The topics covered are seismic hazards and their assessment, liquefaction
and its remediation, site response analysis, piled foundation and pile
failure. Some advanced topics are also covered. An appendix is also added
which collates the useful charts, graphs and tables often being referred by
professionals. This publication covers papers written by leading
academicians and industry practitioners.
